Trauma to Triumph | Part 5

Jesus: The New Man
If there is one man who walked the earth and infinitely overcame trauma, it is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

GROUP READING: John 1:1-5, 1 Peter 2:24

GROUP DISCUSSION:

1. Was Jesus’s life absent from traumatic experiences? What can we learn from the type of life Jesus lived specifically speaking in terms of PTSD?

2. It’s easy to see that it isn’t easy to recover from PTSD. Are there any other solutions outside of following Jesus?

3. What does the cross and empty tomb show us?

GROUP PRAYER:
Pray that we would be men who learn what it means to submit to the life of Jesus. He told us in John 16 verse 33 that we will certainly experience trouble. But he also told us to take heart - he has overcome anything and everything that we will go through. Pray that we would be men who, even though things may look bleak, learn to keep our eyes focused on Jesus. There has only been one who has beaten death. May we be men who do not shy away from the fight. May we be men who are not afraid of embracing our brokenness and handing it to Jesus. Amen and a thousand more amens.
