Be The Wall
Historically, the wall around the city was what protected the city from the enemy. Over the course of time, it seems that the walls of protection - the men - have been eroding away. The enemy is climbing over and sliding through the holes in your life and penetrating the very thing needed for your protection. In this series you will learn why the wall is needed, how we can prevent the erosion, and how to ultimately stand tall as the indestructible wall God has created you to be.

Today men are under assault. Blitzed by cultural and spiritual expectations to succeed, most men feel they must present themselves as the perfect man with everything under control. They are defined by jobs, titles, bank accounts, houses, and cars. As husbands, fathers, and spiritual leaders, men are expected to instantly have all the answers. Believing the lie of the enemy of their soul, they become isolated, fearing they won't measure up. Men need a refuge, a place of safety, a place of escape. Come to the cave. God is waiting for you there.
From story and Scripture to sex and politics, Jesus is at the center. That is the conviction of Voth and Beck in Jesus is the Thesis, who aim to help you more clearly see the truth and beauty of Jesus Christ--and through that clearer picture, see the joy of a life lived following him.
It is in the recognition of Jesus as the main idea, the one who holds everything together, that we find the story beneath all stories, the through-line of the Bible, the hope for our lives, and the just and flourishing life we seek. Jesus is the Thesis is a unique and varied work of Christ-centered apologetics--for the student, for the skeptic, and for the seasoned follower of Christ.

Woman was taken from the side of man where she could be protected, covered, and defended. First breached in the Garden of Eden, the enemy has strategically degraded the masculine wall in his pursuit to harm the feminine soul.

Before David was king, he was a shepherd. Most looked down upon the profession of shepherding . . . long work hours, dirty, and little pay (if any). Yet shepherding his flock was the exact training David needed to take down Goliath. David’s training in private took down giants in public. Purchase the Shepherd’s Pouch and watch your training guide you through circumstances that will equip you to slay your giants.
Once David had slain Goliath, he was suddenly a rock star. Fame, fortune, and royalty were right in front of him. However he knew he couldn’t fight by himself. He needed men alongside him in order to take down the enemies that taunted his people. David was known for fighting with his “Three”: Jashobeam, Eleazar, and Shammah. They were a mighty force to be reckoned with. Get your “Three” and start slaying some giants. Purchase the Warrior’s Pouch in order to lead your men through the battles that will wage against them.
“As they danced they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.” (1 Samuel 18:7)
David became pretty good at slaying giants. He was even known for fighting with the same sword that he killed Goliath with. It was a constant reminder of what God did that day in the valley of Elah. The Books of Samuel talk about “The Three” and “The Thirty” as pretty important entities that did more than just help David take down their enemies. Jashobeam is described as being the leader and is said to have killed 800 men in a single encounter. The Bible talks of a fight in which Eleazar and David take on a complete battalion of Philistines single-handedly. Eleazar’s hand was “welded” to his sword from the fight. And then there was Shammah. One of his greatest acts of valor was defeating a whole troop of Philistines while guarding a field of lentils and barley. It says he stood alone and defeated them by himself.
Surround yourself with men of valor.
Part 4: In this series, Jeff breaks down this wall concept and gives men practical ways to actually be a wall for the women in their life.
