Mountain Men | Part 4

Moses and The Mountain of “I Am”
The God that sets captives free, brings justice, and secures salvation

GROUP READING: Exodus 3, Hebrews 12:29

GROUP DISCUSSION:

1. Moses lived a weird life. I think we can all agree. Can you relate to him wanting to settle down and live a quiet peaceful life? What must have gone through his head when he saw that burning bush and was called by God to do something that was pretty much the exact opposite of what he was currently doing?

2. Moses asks a fair question. God chooses to answer Moses with these words - “I AM”. What does this answer from God do in your Spirit? Wouldn’t we like more clarity? Or is this answer deeper than we could imagine?

3. What does the story of Moses the Mountain Man tell us about the character of God?

GROUP PRAYER:
Pray that we would learn from the story of Moses that a quiet and peaceful isn’t a bad thing, but may we have the strength of spirit to do what God asks no matter what. Pray that we would seek the face of the God who is always present. Pray that we would learn to have a heart after our God who desires that the captives be set free. May we be men like Moses who will fight for the people of God and see that this isn’t a war of flesh and blood, but a war in the spiritual realm. Amen and a thousand more amens.
