Mountain Men | Part 2

Noah and The Mountain of Promise
Despite the evil in our world, God is always faithful to keep his promises.

GROUP READING: Briefly walk through Genesis 6 - 9 (This is the entire story of Noah, the flood, the promise, and the redemption), but pay close attention to these following verses - Genesis 6:7-8,22 - Genesis 8:1-8, 18-22 - Genesis 9:8-17

GROUP DISCUSSION:

1. What made Noah receptive to God’s plan of redemption for the flood that would cover the earth?

2. When the ark landed on Mt. Ararat, do you think Noah trusted God a little more than he already did? What do you think was going through Noah’s head on the top of a mountain knowing Noah had never been to the top and was only used to seeing things from down below?

3. What can we learn from the narrative of Noah the Mountain Man?

GROUP PRAYER:
Pray that in the midst of the evil that is so obvious in the world, that we as men will continue to push forward and see the God who is redemption. Pray that in spite of this evil, we will not be blinded by it, and see clearly that God’s promises are always on the horizon. May we trust that God will provide a mountain for us to land on in the midst of the floods of life. May we allow our breath to be taken away by the view from the top of the mountain and may we not be afraid of the journey it takes to get to the top of that peak. Amen and a thousand more amens.
