Testimonies
“Voth is very practical and provides plenty of ideas on how to make one’s CaveTime experience a good one. Another fact that I appreciated about this book is that it doesn’t have that “macho” feel that so many ‘manhood’ books have. Voth recognizes that God has made us all very different, some of us are jocks, some are artists, some extrovert, some introvert, etc and we’ve all got to find our own style of connecting with God. As Voth encourages, simply ask God, He’ll tell each of us what is the ‘right’ way for each of us because He so wants to commune with each of us.This is an excellent practical book that helps men to draw closer to God. I’ve already started using many of his suggestions to reinvigorate my “Cavetime.””

“Cavetime is not your everyday book about men seeking God. This book takes you on a journey for the purpose of Escaping Life’s Assaults. David’s Story in the Bile is brought to life in this book! I am not someone who speaks out and writes a review about anything, but this book has changed my thought process about my Relationship with God, family and friends.”
— Alex Hunt
“Regardless of your age and how long it’s been since you’ve been walking with or straying from God. In this book Jeff shares his struggle and his victories, in a way that will speak to you and the Man inside you that God has called you to be. My life, my relationship with God, and my family has changed since I’ve been practicing and slinging the 5 Stones of Cavetime. And I’ve seen God working in the lives of the Men that lock shields with me weekly during our Cavetime and through independent study”
— David R.
“After reading Cavetime I have scheduled the author to come speak to the men of our church! Fantastic book with great principals that can be adapted to life!”
— Jimmy Hicks
“Our culture is at war with the Judeo-Christian concept of masculinity. Jeff Voth uses the background of David’s Mighty Men to paint a picture of what we have lost in today’s culture, and what we need to regain. The book flows well and is easy to read in a single session. I had to force myself to put it down to go to bed.”
— David Patterson
“Cavetime is not a woman bashing, men exalting book. It is a call back to a devotional life with God.
Spiritual formation requires time spent with God. Many men forget the simple importance of spiritual disciplines and the community of other men. At the heart of this book is a call to practice “stones” (Jeff’s metaphor for spiritual disciplines) and to see spiritual growth through the ancient ways of being built up and taught by God through faithfully showing up, worship, prayer, reading God’s Holy revelation (the Bible), and the community of men. It is about both individual and corporate practice.
Many books simply deal with the text and never explore application. Fortunately, Jeff incorporates lots of practical application both within the chapters but especially in the appendix. He gives very practical examples of different ways men and women can incorporate these disciplines into their lives.
I recommend this book for new believers, mature believers, and both men and women.”
