Trauma to Triumph | Part 2

The Fall of Saul
King Saul failed to address all of the blinking lights on the dashboard of his life.

GROUP READING: 1 Sam. 14:47, 1 Sam. 16:14

GROUP DISCUSSION:

1. Can we relate to the numbness that took place inside of Saul’s mind and heart?

2. Have you ever been tormented like Saul was? Why do you think he chose to dive deeper into war and chaos instead of listening to those with good judgement? Do you think Saul thought peace was too far away or too hard to attain?

3. We can see that Saul truly saw no way out. Have you been there before? Have you walked through life with someone experiencing this? What are some of the best ways to handle situations like this?

GROUP PRAYER:
Pray that we would be men who seek peace, even in the midst of “war” or chaos. May we be men who are not afraid to ask for help. May we learn from Saul in the scriptures. May we hear from the Holy Spirit on how to walk through the valley of the shadow of death and trauma, and fear no evil. May we see that there is a way out of trauma, and not succumb to the effects of the darkness around us. Amen and a thousand more amens.
